TRAINING
Understand the figures behind business decisions.
Financial information is easier to use when its structure and limitations are understood. Our financial training helps participants connect everyday business activity with the reports they see. Sessions are adapted to the audience, from owners and operational managers to staff developing their finance responsibilities.
Learn the core concepts in context
A proposed programme can cover the relationship between revenue, costs, profit, assets, liabilities and cash. Participants examine how timing, outstanding balances and accounting estimates can affect the way performance appears. The objective is to improve understanding and the quality of questions asked, not to turn a short workshop into a substitute for professional accounting judgement.
Practise reading and discussing reports
Exercises may involve interpreting a management report, comparing a budget with actual activity and identifying information that needs clarification. We use fictional or appropriately anonymised material. Participants are encouraged to distinguish a confirmed fact from an assumption and to explain which additional information would support a better decision.
Apply learning to your role
The session can be shaped around a manager reviewing expenses, a business owner discussing cash commitments or a team preparing a monthly reporting pack. The agreed output may include a reference guide, practical tasks and a review of learning points. It does not provide personalised investment advice, a regulated qualification or a guarantee of a particular business outcome.
Frequently asked questions
Is prior accounting knowledge required?
The starting level is agreed in advance. Introductory sessions can be designed for participants who do not work in a finance role.
Can we use our own reports?
Potentially, subject to permission and appropriate handling. A redacted sample is preferable for the initial scoping discussion.
